What Is BISP

BISP September Update 2023
The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) has released the first quarterly installment of Rs. 7,000/- for the year 2023. About 7.7 million families will receive over Rs. 55 billion in the first tranche.
BISP is a social safety net program that provides cash assistance to poor and vulnerable families in Pakistan. The program is funded by the government of Pakistan and is implemented through the Ministry of Finance.
In September 2023, BISP has made the following updates to the program:
- Increased the monthly cash transfer amount from Rs. 6,000 to Rs. 7,000.
- Expanded the coverage of the program to include more families.
